Privacy
This page covers two different things: the information we publish about businesses, which comes from a public record, and the information we collect from you if you fill in a form here.
Effective 18 August 2026 · Updated 11 September 2026 (form delivery)
1. What we publish about businesses, and where it comes from
Every listing is compiled from the Florida Division of Corporations (Sunbiz) daily corporate data file, a public record published by the State of Florida. We republish the entity name, entity type, document number, filing date, city, county and a category we assign ourselves.
We do not publish street addresses. Florida requires a principal address and a registered-agent address on every filing, and for a great many small businesses that is where the owner lives. Because of that we leave the street address out of every listing page and out of the CSV and JSON exports, and publish only the city and county. We did not choose those addresses and we cannot change the state record, but we do not have to repeat it. We can, and will, take a page off this site.
We do not publish anyone's email address, phone number, date of birth, signature or any government identifier, even where a filing contains one.
2. Getting a listing removed
Use the removal form. No account, no proof of ownership, no reason required, and nothing to buy. Removals are actioned as soon as we have processed the request: the page is deleted, the entry comes out of the issue page, the city page, the archive, the sitemap and the RSS feed, and search engines are asked to drop the URL.
Removing a page here does not change the state record. That stays public at search.sunbiz.org, which is outside our control.
3. What we collect from you
Three forms on this site collect information, and only when you type it in:
- Claim a listing: business name, document number, your name, your role, email, and optionally phone, website and notes.
- Remove a listing: the listing name, your name and your email, plus an optional note.
- Privacy request: the form further down this page: the kind of request, your email, and optionally a short note about it.
This site carries Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views in aggregate. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you, does not identify you and does not follow you to other websites, and it is never combined with anything you type into a form. There is no advertising tag and no tracking pixel. Our host records the IP address of every request as ordinary server logging; we do not use it to build a profile of you and we do not combine it with anything you type into a form.
4. Where that information goes
A submission is delivered by FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a form-forwarding service, to the publisher’s own email inbox, where we read it and act on it. Our host, Cloudflare, serves the site. Google Fonts serves the typefaces, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. That is the whole list: no advertising network, no data broker, and nobody who receives what you send us for their own purposes. Cloudflare also provides the aggregate page-view counts described above.
Removal requests are the exception in one direction: once a removal is confirmed to you, the name and email you gave us for it are deleted.
5. Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own and there is no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. Our host may set a security cookie as part of protecting the site.
6. The newsletter
There is no email edition. The Wire has never sent one, no longer collects email addresses for one, and keeps no mailing list. New issues appear on this site and in the RSS feed, which needs nothing from you. If that ever changes, this notice changes before the first email goes out, not after.
7. Asking us what we hold, or to delete it
Use the request form further down this page. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We answer within a reasonable time and never charge for it. These are choices we offer everyone, not a right that depends on which state you live in.
More precisely, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, send you a copy, correct it, delete it. We answer every request within 30 days at the latest. The Wire has no mailing list and sends no marketing email, so there is nothing to opt out of. Requests sent through the form below are relayed by FormSubmit to the same inbox, and those deadlines run from the day a request arrives. If your request is about a business listing rather than about you personally, the removal page is the faster route.
Request received. We will reply to the email you gave within 30 days at the latest.
8. Who we are
The South Florida Business Wire is published by Sun Coast Digital Media LLC, a Florida limited liability company, document number L26000306690, a service-area business based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with no public street address. It sells websites and marketing services to small businesses, including businesses that appear in these listings. See the terms and how the data is collected.
